World Water Forum 2024

From 18 to 24 May 2024, the 10th World Water Forum is taking place in Bali, Indonesia (https://www.worldwaterforum.org).

Organized every three years, these forums bring together tens of thousands of participants, enabling the international water community and key decision-makers to gather, collaborate, and contribute to addressing global challenges for the water and sanitation sector.

The central theme of the Forum is "Water for Shared Prosperity" which is divided into 6 sub-themes:

  • Water Security and Prosperity
  • Water for Humans and Nature
  • Disaster Risk Reduction and Management
  • Governance, Cooperation, and Hydro-Diplomacy
  • Sustainable Water Finance
  • Knowledge and Innovation

 

Programme Solidarité Eau, pS-Eau (www.pseau.org), a French multi-stakeholder network committed to ensuring access to water and sanitation for all, will be fully engaged in this World Water Forum alongside its members and partners.

In particular, it will highlight the commitment of French local authorities to support actions in developing countries, as well as the reflections it has initiated to contribute to improving the provision of water and sanitation services in developing countries.

The pS-Eau organizes or contributes to the following sessions:

pS-Eau will share on a dedicated page of its website and on its social media channels the key messages it takes away from this Forum.

During the Forum, pS-Eau, alongside its partners, will particularly advocate during the exchange sessions for:

  • The role of local authorities and decentralized cooperation
  • Considering the entire sanitation chain
  • The need to accelerate efforts to achieve the targets of the SDGs related to water and sanitation services
  • The linkage between water and sanitation services and water resources management
  • The linkage between different scales for water resources governance
