Abstract:
WASH-GAP approach brings together local non-governmental organizations (LNGOs), government agencies and international donors working in the WASH-sector to join forces in reaching un(der)served areas. The approach contributes to the national water and sanitation programme adopted by the Ministry of Energy and Water and the efforts of the Regional Water Establishments. The WASH-GAP approach focuses on un(der)served areas and aims to target these with appropriate social and policy interventions which are designed to enhance the public’s acceptance of the government’s services whilst sparking a sense of ownership during and after the construction to ensure the sustainability of the utilities.
