Practical Action - Rugby Formato descargable: PdF ![]() Descargable desde el editor ![]() Abstract: Bio-latrines are a simple idea; make use of the waste that we produce by generating biogas, a source of energy that can be used for cooking and lighting or for generating electricity if you have enough gas. In bio-latrines this is combined with the need to manage human waste in areas where there is no centralised sewerage system. Practical Action has done this in a number of institutions such as schools and hospitals in Kenya in Nepal in respectively. This new technical brief outlines some of the benefits and disadvantages of the bio-latrine approach.
