Objectives: The main objective of TaTEDO is Facilitate Improvement of peoples’ Livelihoods so as to Contributes to increased Access to Sustainable Energy Services through

- Enhance employment and income opportunities
- Reduces dependence on imported energy
- Productive Use of Energy/increase productivity
- Reduces environmental degradation
- Enhance availability quality social services
- Promotes economic growth
Activities: TaTEDO has been collaborating with different stake-holders to facilitate increased access to sustainable energy services in Tanzania by developing expertise and strengthening sustainable energy access systems which include:

- Developing and implementing participatory integrated sustainable energy assessment, planning and implementation in rural areas to assess and under-stand socio-economic and cultural context of targeted end-users; (demand side).
- Developing and supporting sustainable low carbon energy technologies and services market chains (strengthen supply, developing distribution net-works and enhancing demand) by assessing and understanding actors, barriers, thereafter designing and undertaking interventions towards delivering energy services at different levels for different target groups.
- Developing and implementing support services (awareness raising, training for both technical and business skills, linking micro enterprises and end users with micro-finance for accessing affordable financing) and
- Fostering the enabling environment (engage national, international and local levels stakeholders-policy and decision makers; for supportive policies, strategies, regulations and tax incentives)
