Description: The Cardozo Journal of Law & Gender began as the Cardozo Women's Law Journal, publishing its first volume in 1994. Recognizing the expansion of legal and social developments on topics such as gender, sexuality, and family law, the 2005-2006 Board sought to create a niche for these growing fields at Cardozo. Since its inception as the Cardozo Journal of Law & Gender in 2005, our Journal has stood out among related publications.

The Cardozo Journal of Law & Gender is home to groundbreaking legal research, the only annotated legal bibliography of its kind and an annual Symposium covering themes such as the Innocence Project, education, religion, sexuality, marriage and the law, reproductive justice, environmental considerations for women and families in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, human trafficking, and intersex issues. Whether you are visiting our Journal to learn more about our publication, to submit articles or to read through past volumes, we welcome you and thank you for your interest.
