Objectives: The ITN is a network of local, regional, and international training institutions to provide training, spread information and facilitate research on low-cost water supply and sanitation sectors. It was established by the Water and Sanitation Program (WSP) in 1984, as a development instrument to conduct region specific training with global linkages and resource base.
Activities: The ITN assists governments in formulating policies for human resource development and the promotion of the role of women in the water and sanitation sector. It provides a comprehensive audiovisual series on low-cost technologies and approaches in the sector through its partnership of training centers, host agencies and local governments.
