Objectives: Increase female representation in technical, managerial, and leadership roles, driving a more inclusive and sustainable future for the continent :
- increasing the number of women professionals in power utilities and power sector companies,
- increasing the number of women technical professionals in power utilities and power sector companies,
- increasing the number of women in managerial positions in power utilities and power sector companies.
Description: The Women in Energy Network Africa (WEN-Africa) is a regional initiative focused on increasing women's employment, particularly in technical and leadership roles, within the energy sector across ten African countries: Burundi, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Kenya, Rwanda, Somalia, South Sudan, Tanzania and Uganda. By promoting gender equality and women's empowerment, WEN-Africa collaborates with energy sector stakeholders to facilitate advocacy, policy dialogue, capacity development, research, and analytics.
