Water professional stakeholder,
Activities: The project is part of the “Greater Cairo Waste Water Project”, a comprehensive plan of reorganization of the sewage water system in Cairo. This project is to be accomplished in three subsequent phases in the period of 20 years. The plant is the first of the three phases (treatment capacity: 1.2 million m3 /day) and is divided into two sections, one for the treatment of liquid sewage and the other for the treatment of mud. The implant receives urban liquid sewage through a sewage network that covers an area of 17,800 hectares with a population of almost 6 million inhabitants. This liquid sewage will be purified and returned to the environment.
