| About the course: Theory: global water and sanitation issues; low cost sanitation technologies; social, cultural, economic and environmental issues; approaches for implementing sanitation programs; identifying the implementation approach and technology options. Practical: construction of a latrine slab, SanPlat slab, pour flush latrine slab, and domed slab. Implementation: selecting an appropriate range of technology options; selecting an appropriate implementation approach; developing an effective implementation plan; community promotion, education and participatory planning; requirements for a successful program; lessons learned and case studies; developing the vision and next steps after the workshop. |
