About the course:
This is a distance-learning course aimed at enhancing the capacity to manage water and wastewater treatment plants. It is targeted at people who are either aspiring to or are already working for local authorities, municipalities and industry, whose duties in the main include water and wastewater management. The course is carried out through on-the-job block releases, which require one to attend face-to-face lessons in combination with field lessons and practicals. The modules are designed as training and reference material to practicing operators and administrators. Modules in this course are; water chemistry, water treatment, corrective water treatment, processes for problem water, water distribution, safety, technical supervision and management, wastewater collection, wastewater treatment, modified activated sludge treatment process, waste stabilisation ponds, sludge treatment and disposal and solid waste management. The course is registered with the Ministry of Higher Education and Technology that will examine and issue certificates.

Operators and junior management of water and wastewater treatment plants.
Entry requirements: Holders of National Certificate in Water and Waste Management or equivalent.
