Designing Viable Sanitation Enterprises: A Market Based Sanitation Game | ||||||
jeu , logiciel Nov 2019 Aut. Rishi Agarwal & Subhash Chennuri Ed. Global Waters - Page de présentation d'un éditeur Abstract: Multiple strategic choices exist for each of the four elements of a sanitation enterprise: the target market selection, the product system on offer, sales & marketing mechanisms to reach customers, and the delivery model to organize resources and fulfill demand (Figure 1). The interaction between these elements as well as the entrepreneur’s capabilities and assets determine the profit generated by an enterprise and its viability. This game called "Designing Viable Sanitation Enterprises" is aimed to serve as a tool for MBS practitioners to understand and appreciate: a) the interactions between the elements of a sanitation enterprise, the entrepreneur, and the broader context; b) how strategic choices and trade-offs impact the profit of an enterprise; c) that multiple design options are possible in a given context; and d) the importance of profit for enterprise viability and sustainability.
