Abstract:
The present electronic book is aimed to bring together the major contributions to the international conference on The Global Dimensions of Change in River Basins – Threats, Linkages and Adaptation, organized within the Global Catchment Initiative of the Global Water System Project (GWSP) and held between 6 to 8 December 2010, in Bonn, Germany. This book contains papers which were presented during the conference, either as keynote lectures in plenary sessions or as submitted papers in one of the thematic sessions. Contents:
Addressing especially graduate students and young professionals in the field of freshwater research, the book is meant as an introduction to the issues, debates and contributions of the conference. It is structured into three sections:
1. Global Change and River Basins,
2. Accounting for Water and River Basins,
3. Governance and River Basins.
