Résumé:Ce dessin animé Walt Disney montre les méthodes de transmission du paludisme et les ravages qu'il peut produire en milieu exposé.Des remèdes sont peu à peu mis en place pour lutter contre les larves et les moustiques porteurs, comme l'écoulement des eaux stagnantes, l'usage de moustiquaires et d'insecticides. The first of a series of health-related educational shorts produced by the Disney studios and the Coordinator of Inter-American Affairs for showing in Latin America. It was also the only one to use established Disney characters (the Seven Dwarves).
In this propaganda short, the viewers are taught about how the mosquito can spread malaria. A young mosquito flies into a house and consumes the blood of an infected human. She then consumes the blood of a healthy human, transmitting the disease into him. It turns out that this is actually a film within a film and the Seven Dwarves are watching it. In this vintage Walt Disney cartoon, the Seven Dwarfs help battle the dread mosquito to stop the spread of malaria. Some of the recommendations for combating malaria (drain wetlands, dump oil in the water) are just a wee bit outdated. But Dopey looks so cute chasing mosquitoes around the house with his sprayer full of pesticide!
