The Trigger: Community Led Total Sanitation | ||||||||
A Five-Day Workshop in India film video internet Mar 2012 ; Durée: 20 min. Ed. WSP - Washington Téléchargeable chez l'éditeur Page de présentation d'un éditeur Abstract: Although many toilets have been built, a majority of people in rural India continues to practice open defecation. To address this, Community-Led Total Sanitation (CLTS) programs are being implemented to trigger a demand within people and communities for improved sanitation by pitching communication about sanitation issues at an emotional level. This video describes CLTS and features extensive excerpts from the five-day CTLS training workshop in India. Topics in these highly participatory workshops include psychological aspects of behavior change and why past sanitation programs have failed. The video also shows excerpts from participants and trainers going into villages to conduct field-triggering exercises, as well as highlights from the workshop's final day, when community members from the villages are invited to join the workshop, share their experiences with the triggering, and develop an action plan to carry the work forward.
