Résumé:
Abuela Grillo - "Mamie cricket" - est un dessin animé court mais passionnant sur les peuples et leur droit à l'eau comme bien public pour tous, qui aborde aussi au passage les questions de coexistence et d'environnement. Au-delà du fait qu'il n'est pas courant qu'un film ait pour protagoniste principal une petite grand-mère, ce travail est le fruit d'une initiative interculturelle ayant eu lieu entre la Bolivie et le Danemark.
"Abuela grillo" est une adaptation d'un mythe ayoreo, peuple amérindien nomade. La version animée de cette histoire devient une fable qui aborde une question clé dans le monde contemporain : la lutte des peuples contre la marchandisation de l'eau. Abstract:
The film is about the dependency on water and the fight for the universal right to pure water.
Abuela Grillo, the main character, means grandmother grasshopper and refers to the Bolivian myth that says that the rain falls when grandmother grasshopper sings. Consequently, a small rain cloud follows Abuela Grillo everywhere she goes. When she sings – it rains.
The film is based on two sources of inspiration: A myth from the Bolivian lowlands, and the actual events from 2000 when an American company privatised the water resources in the third largest city in Bolivia, Cochabamba – the so called water war. This combination of fiction and harsh realities makes the film curious and relevant – expressed in the film’s subtitle A fable of our times. Resumen:
Este corto animado nos presenta una adaptación de este mito ayoreo (pueblo indígena del chaco boreal), haciendo que esta historia sea una fábula que trata un tema fundamental del mundo contemporáneo: la lucha de los pueblos en contra de la mercantilización del agua.
