Ce guide traite de la gamme de récipients d’eau domestiques communément trouvés dans les pays à faible revenu. Il examine le rôle joué par ces récipients dans un approvisionnement approprié et sûr en eau par le ménage.
Il explique aussi pourquoi la planification de l’approvisionnement en eau ne doit pas s’arrêter au robinet public ou au puits du village mais doit s’étendre jusqu’à l’endroit où l’eau est utilisée. Comprendre la façons dont les gens utilisent les récipients d’eau et concevoir un système d’approvisionnement qui les prennent en compte aidera les ingénieurs à concevoir un service plus sûr et de meilleure qualité. Abstract:
This booklet examines the range of domestic water containers commonly found in low-income countries and explores the role that water containers have in ensuring that household water supplies are adequate and safe. It also explains why planning for a water supply system should not end at the public tap or village well but extend to the place where the water is used.
Understanding the ways in which people use water containers and designing the supply system to take account of this will help engineers to provide a better and safer service.
