Le Energy Progress Report évalue les avancées réalisées dans la quête mondiale visant à garantir un accès universel à une énergie abordable, fiable, durable et moderne d'ici 2030. En 2023, les efforts mondiaux pour améliorer l'accès à l'électricité ont connu un regain après un recul en 2022. L'année a marqué une étape importante, les nouvelles connexions électriques ayant dépassé la croissance démographique, portant ainsi l'accès mondial à l'électricité à 92 %. Cette progression a réduit le nombre de personnes sans électricité à 666 millions, soit une diminution de 19 millions par rapport à l'année précédente.
Malgré cette tendance positive, le rythme de croissance reste insuffisant pour atteindre l'accès universel d'ici 2030. Abstract:
The Energy Progress Report assesses achievements in the global quest for universal access to affordable, reliable, sustainable, and modern energy by 2030. In 2023, the global effort to improve access to electricity saw a resurgence after a setback in 2022. The year marked a milestone as new electricity connections outpaced population growth, raising global access to 92 percent. This progress reduced the number of people without electricity to 666 million, a decrease of 19 million from the previous year.
Despite this positive trend, the growth rate remains insufficient to achieve universal access by 2030. Contents:
