Abstract:
This brief shares the experiences of the Global MHH Monitoring Group and collaborators, including national governments, UNICEF and country stakeholders, in rolling out the indicators in 12 countries and the lessond learned from initial efforts to promote uptake in national monitoring systems. Based on a crossportfolio analysis of efforts, it outlines:
1. the process for getting started to promoteuptake in new countries.
2. common themes or ingredients of success.
3. pathways for how strengthened monitoring can support improved MHH for women, girls and other people who menstruate.
The brief concludes with further resources for those who want to undertake similar initiatives to strengthen MHH in their country. It has been written to support the work of national and local governments, development partners and others engaged in the topic.
