Abstract:
Under the HawkaMaa-EU project, river basin management approach was integrated and the work of the consortium revolved around 3 river basins (Al Assi, Al Oustuan, Al Ghadir). ACTED have allocated BTD to conduct a water balance study around Al Oustuan river basin. The study suggests various interventions and measures (technological, legislative, regulatory, financial, etc.) to achieve efficient water use by all sectors of the community (urban/ domestic, agricultural, industrial, etc.) The proposed measures have the potential to reduce unmet water demand in Al Ostuan, between 12.5 Mm3 and 118 Mm3 for the entire 2019 – 2035 period.
