À Monrovia, au Libéria, dans le cadre du travail de Cities Alliance dans les quartiers informels, nous mobilisons les femmes pour promouvoir leur participation au développement de leurs communautés. Une série d’initiatives récentes de cartographie de l’égalité entre les sexes a abouti à la conception et à la construction conjointes de kiosques à eau gérés par des femmes. L’infrastructure améliorera l’accès des femmes à l’eau potable et à l’assainissement, améliorera leurs moyens de subsistance et renforcera la voix des femmes dans le développement urbain. Abstract:
In Monrovia, Liberia, as part of Cities Alliance's work in informal settlements, we are engaging women to promote their participation in the development of their communities. A series of recent gender mapping initiatives resulted in the co-design and construction of women managed water kiosks. The infrastructure will improve access to safe water and sanitation for women, improve their livelihoods and strengthen women's voices in urban development.
