Water managers could thus predict the date of the low flow of the various sources dependent on the study area. To do this and for the snow team, two aspects are essential: • Assessment of residual snowfield volumes of the current year in order to be able to assess the water equivalent they represent; • the inter-annual fluctuations of these volumes in order to be able to discern if trends are emerging. • understanding the role of terrain in snow retention and meltwater infiltration processes. Indeed, the summit areas of Lebanon present a very particular relief interesting from several points of view for a study of the snow cover.
