5-24 November 2007

From 5 to 24 November 2007, the Africa Working Group (AWG) of the European Union Water Initiative (EUWI www.euwi.net) organised an electronic conference on the theme: “Sanitation – The Deadly Cost of Doing Nothing”. This on-line conference was organized and mediated by the pS-Eau.

The objective of the conference was to build messages related to sanitation issues that are shared between African and European partners

-         To the AfricaSan+5 conference in Durban (South Africa) in February 2008,

-         2008 International Year of Sanitation events http://esa.un.org/iys/.

The on-line conference focused on three themes:

-         Week 1 (5-10 November): How to build sound national sanitation policies?

-         Week 2 (12-17 November): How to empower and support local governments to face the challenge of providing sanitation services?

-         Week 3 (19-24 November): How to finance sanitation infrastructure and services?
